In 1997, the Arizona State Legislature enacted ARS § 43-1089, the Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit Law. Subsequently, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of this law.

This law allows married couples to donate up to $2,177 a year to a private school (single taxpayers may donate up to $1089 a year) and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their Arizona state income tax return. This arrangement greatly benefits both CCS students and Arizona taxpayers as it enables taxpayers to direct a portion of what otherwise would be a state income tax payment to ultimately help an elementary student with tuition at Christ Church School.

Due to generous tax-credit donations made to the Arizona Episcopal Schools Foundation (AESF) and the Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization (ACSTO) by CCS friends, families and Christ Church of the Ascension members, scholarship monies are available for students who attend elementary classes at Christ Church School. Awards made by these entities can only be used to pay for tuition for students currently enrolled in grades K-12 at a private Christian school (or at least planning to attend K-12 in the semester following the award process).

Once your student is enrolled in elementary school at CCS, you may complete and file the necessary applications. If your child is not currently enrolled, or at least in the enrollment process, at the school named on your scholarship application, awards cannot be granted. You must also have a current and complete application on file at Christ Church School in order to be considered for available scholarship awards. A complete application and/or a donor's recommendation is no guarantee for a scholarship. AESF and ACSTO selection committees have complete discretion regarding all scholarships awarded.

While donors may recommend a student or school, all scholarships are subject to the absolute discretion of these agencies.
